A leading light of the Scandinavian Modern movement, Yngve Ekström created his own design company in his hometown of Hagafors, Småland, in Southern Sweden in 1945. Working closely with manufacturer Swedese, he designed the Lamino lounge chair in 1956 with simple curves and bentwood birch frame.
